The owner and instructor of the boating school. He started sailing as a child and has been hooked ever since. In 2005, he became an assistant instructor at a sailing school and discovered his passion for teaching. He then worked his way up through all the positions, first as a sailing instructor, then also for motorboats. For a time, he was a second senior instructor in Ireland, part of a team of ten instructors. He also spent a summer at a school in Menorca. After that, he spent many years teaching the German Sport Boat License (SBF) at several training centers in Berlin.

At some point, the time came to try it independently, in order to better incorporate my own ideas and experiences into optimal training for aspiring water sports enthusiasts and recreational captains.

Unfortunately, boat training in Germany is not very practical compared to some other countries. Many students receive only minimal practical experience and, due to time constraints, too little feedback from their instructors. As a result, while they may pass the SBF exam, they can barely dock and undock a boat properly at various rental boat companies.

There are other ways to do things, and that's about to change!



More practical experience is needed, because boating isn't difficult! Quality over quantity is the motto of the Stickler boating school; if the students (hopefully) take their time for their training, the instructor should too. Practice makes perfect, even after the training. That's why the sailboat sharing program is available, allowing you to easily and flexibly continue exploring the waters after passing your exam.
